In Loving Memory of

Ms. Lisa Combs and her loving husband, Mr. Orin moved to Wewahitchka and began volunteering at the children’s home in the 90s. In 1997 they joined our crew as house parents and since then have been “mom and dad” to over 100 boys and 1 sweet girl. Ms. Lisa departed this life for Heaven on January 17. 

 

Ms. Lisa was a pillar of the children’s home and worked hard day in and day out to provide a welcoming and loving environment to each and every child that entered through our doors. She was well known for her extravagant holiday parties including her favorite Halloween and Christmas parties, full of games and activities for the children. She loved trips to the beach and off shore fishing with her boys and Mr. Orin in the warm summer months. 

 

Ms. Lisa had the gift of seeing the good in every person. She never gave up on any child, no matter how frustrated she may have been. Ms. Lisa was easy going, but held strong to her faith. She loved teaching the children about God through sign language and mimes. Helping those in need was her passion. She was a wonderful, kind, loving, and selfless wife, mother, and “memaw” and she will be greatly missed.
